Amanda Ridd (she/her)
I am a Clinical Psychologist providing adult autism assessments, with a particular focus on women, trans and gender-diverse people, and those whose autistic traits may be subtle, internalised, or masked.
I completed my postgraduate psychology training at the University of Melbourne and have over 10 years experience working in assessment and therapeutic settings with adolescents and adults. Throughout my career, I have undertaken specialist training in adult autism assessment, including female and non-stereotypical presentations of autism that are commonly overlooked in traditional assessment approaches.
My assessment approach is neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based, and collaborative. Assessments are conducted in a flexible and conversational way, taking time to understand the whole person — including both observable autistic traits and the internal effort involved in navigating everyday social and sensory demands.
I’m drawn to this work because adult autism assessments can help people make sense of lifelong patterns that once felt confusing, move away from unhelpful narratives shaped by misunderstanding or invalidation, and make more informed choices about how they live, work, and relate to others.
I offer autism assessments in person in Woodend or via telehealth.
